We don’t charge for our first meeting. It just doesn’t feel right. You don’t even know if you like us yet, and we don’t know if we can help.
When we do sit down for the first time, we think of it as a Fact Finding Mission. We ask a lot of questions to try and uncover the things that are keeping you up at night. It’s like a tour of your business, focusing on the things that aren’t working. We learn what you’re about, where you’ve been, and where you’re trying to go.
We like almost everyone. And most people seem to like us, too. If that holds true for you, we’ll get all the contract stuff taken care of, and then we’ll move into Blueprinting.
Blueprinting is another round of us listening to you. Except this time it’s not a tour. It’s a full blown safari into the heart of your business. We’ll ask the kinds of questions that provide detailed direction to our team. We fill out the audience decision matrix, and delve deeply into the hows, whats and whys of the site.
The Blueprinting gives us everything we need to build a project. Soon, you’ll receive a detailed timeline of approximate delivery dates for your project, along with specific dates when we’ll need items from you (approvals, copy if you choose not to have us write it for you, etc.)
Next comes the real fun – the design. Our web design process starts with a wireframe, a document that shows you where we think things should go on the homepage. Once we’ve gotten your comments and approval on that, we show you full color designs for your homepage, inside pages, and sometimes a blog page or a product page.
Our web development process involves a lot of things. We write the code that turns your designs from the previous step into fully-functioning pages and sites. This includes everything from HTML / CSS layouts (no, we don’t build on tables anymore) to database integration and development. We work with PHP, JQuery, ColdFusion, and all kinds of industry jargon in this phase..
Once everything’s all built, we run a top-to-bottom quality check and ask you to take the site for a test drive. We top off the oil, fill the tank with gas, and as soon as you say “go”, we put it live on the internet for everyone to see.
